South Carolina: Congaree National Park

Congaree National Park is a 26,000+ acre forest in central South Carolina that is home to the largest tract of old growth bottomland hardwood forest in the United States. This lush landscape is only 18 miles from Columbia. Visitors can experience hiking, canoeing, or kayaking in a diverse ecosystem along the Congaree and Wateree rivers.
